Going green for senior housing will be popular in a new over-55s villa development in Hamersley. Construction has begun on Vickers Green, 10 eco-friendly villas in a boutique development that will use the latest energy-efficient building materials.

 

A boutique retirement village in Forrestfield is attracting buyers to its freestanding villas with big interiors.

Hermon Village is owned and managed by the Christadelphian Welfare Association and already has many happy residents.

The completed village will have 23 villas, with 16 already built and 12 occupied.

Garden villas designed for single seniors are proving popular at a Canning Vale retirement village. Joseph Banks Estate in Canna Drive has only two of the easy-care two bedroom villas left among a village of mostly bigger retirement homes.

Seniors including a retired nun invoking the spirit of Mother Mary MacKillop, drove their gophers like Formula One cars yesterday, taking part in a  "gopher muster".
